Sometimes I think we underestimate the importance of our communities, and of building strong ties with the people we love. We get so caught up in the minutiae of our lives, with our to-do lists and our goals and ambitions, that we cut ourselves off from the living thread of real connection. Then we wonder why we are so lonely.

If we don’t make time and space for feeding our relationships, our relationships eventually won’t be there.

We see in this card one friend holding the other up while moving forward, and the other one lighting their way. This is true friendship. In true friendship there is honesty, trust, open-heartedness, vulnerability, joy, guidance, love. Giving and receiving support. Living life together. Showing up.

This kind of connection is our birthright.
